Brit Awards 2011: British Producer

It wouldn’t be fair if the artists had all the fun so the Brits have chosen their five favourite behind the scenes men for the Best British Producer Award.

Produce the goods: Brit nominee Ethan Johns has worked with Kings of Leon
This year's nominees for Best British Producer include some of the biggest names in the music industry, who have collaborated with music royalty from around the globe.
First up is Ethan Johns, keeping it in the family so to speak as he is son to producer Glyn Johns. Ethan has worked with fellow Brit nominees Kings of Leon and Laura Marling as well as Scot Paolo Nutini, Ryan Adams and Crowded House.
Former Brit Award winner John Leckie is also up for Best British Producer. Beginning his career in the famous Abbey Road Studios Leckie has worked with some of the biggest artists of the past century. He has produced many high profile critically acclaimed work such as the debut album by the Stone Roses, Radiohead’s The Bends and Muse’s Origins of Symmetry and Showbiz.
Markus Dravs’ work has a heavy presence at this year’s Brit Awards as he has produced Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More and Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs, both of which are up for Best Album awards. He has also worked on Björk's Homogenic and Arcade Fire's Neon Bible and as well as Coldplay’s Viva la Vida or Death.
Multi-Grammy award winner Stuart Price is a strong contender in this category. He has produced tracks for New Order, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Take That, Missy Elliott, Scissor Sisters, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys, Brandon Flowers and Gwen Stefani to name but a few.
Mike Pela has also been nominated, having worked with Boy George, Pete Townsend and Sade over the years.
The Brit Awards ceremony takes place on Tuesday 15 February from 8pm. Join us on stv.tv for all the news and gossip as it happens.
